Research & Development Test Facility

Description
The ANSTI R&D Demand Regulator Test Facility is a full turnkey package specifically designed to dynamically measure the underwater breathing performance of complete SCUBA equipment. With optional adapters this can include rebreathers, diving helmets and band masks. The system utilises a combination of high accuracy measuring instruments and the latest ANSTI Compudat PC computerised data acquisition system to generate real-time displays of breathing performance and certificates of test. The pressure vessel will accommodate twin 10 litre (water capacity) SCUBA cylinders and test to the ventilation and environmental requirements of European Standard EN250 and the NEDU cold water tests for underwater breathing apparatus. Rated to a maximum working depth of 80 msw, the test vessel is fitted with a quick release lid system and a pre-set automatic depth controller which minimises the time taken for each test, normally less than 3 minutes. The computer and instrumentation system is to the latest ANSTI Compudat PC specification which will measure and record test depth, water temperature, exhaled air temperature and the real-time response of high pressure, inter-stage pressure, mouthpiece differential pressure and stroke. The results are printed in the form of test certificates showing the dynamic response of the equipment for the selected parameters.
