Diver Equipment Monitoring System

Description
DEMoS will allow monitoring of SCUBA equipment performance during manned diving trials and display, in real-time to a surface crew, the equipment status throughout the dive. The system is a self contained, fully calibrated turnkey package, comprising three main elements; a robust diver instrument pod, a 75m data umbilical and a rugged surface display / data acquisition module.
The diving equipment instrumentation / sensors are housed in a compact stainless steel pod which is fully waterproof and pressure proof to 10 bar (100 msw). The sensors measure diver inhalation / exhalation pressure, breath by breath inspired / expired air temperature, interstage pressure, cylinder pressure, depth and water temperature. The sensors are interrogated approximately 500 times / second and the information displayed in real time on a ruggedised laptop computer / data acquisition system which is housed in a waterproof case. All data is sequentially stored to the hard drive for post test analysis. The data may also be downloaded to a laboratory PC for post test analysis and permanent storage.
